She is of Irish, French and Native American ancestry. Fox grew up in nearby Rockwood, Tennessee. She began her training in drama and dance at age 5, in Kingston.
At age 16, Fox launched her career after winning several awards at the 1999 American Modeling and Talent Convention in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
